Chicago Fire Paramedic Gabriela Dawson Played by Monica Raymund
Chicago Fire‘s Paramedic in Charge Gabriela Dawson starts out Chicago Fire‘s first season getting herself in some trouble. She has an it’s better to ask forgiveness than permission attitude and that sometimes has her doing things in the course of her job that the powers that be find, troubling. Dawson finds herself written up for policy violations enough times that she is called to a hearing about her behavior. She feels that she is doing what’s best at the moment and is willing to defend her actions. Gabriela Dawson has feelings for the leader of Chicago Fire’s Truck 81, Lt. Casey and when Casey and his girlfriend break up, Dawson sees her chance and makes her move. Things do not go very well and the relationship fizzles before it even has a chance to begin. When she determines there is no there there, she finds herself attractive to a Chicago Fire Candidate, Peter Mills and they begin a relationship. Gabriela Dawson is fiercely protective of her friends, especially her partner on ambulance 61, Leslie Shay. When Shay’s ex begins to worm her way back into Shay’s heart, it is Gabriela Dawson who is there to warn her of the past and to help pick up the pieces when things go badly.
Monica Raymund was born in 1986 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Monica Raymond is a graduate of the acting program at The Julliard School where she was the recipient of the John Houseman award. She was a regular on FOX’s Lie To Me, had a recurring role on CBS’s The Good Wife and guest spots on Law & Order: SVU and Blue Bloods.
